Key Qualifications:
Mr. Munyanya was elected as the Vice-President of the International Union of Architects (UIA) in September 2017, a position he holds to date. This is after serving as a UIA Council Member from 2008. He was a treasurer of the Africa Union of Architects (AUA) between 2005 and 2011.
He is one of the Directors of AIA Architects Limited, previously Adventis Inhouse Africa Ltd incorporated in 2005 after a merger between Adventis Limited and In-House Architects. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture Degree from the University of Nairobi and is a graduate student at the University of Salford in United Kingdom in which he is pursuing Strategy and Project Management.
He has had a vast experience in working with several firms. These include Adventis Limited, Symbion International as an Architect before rising to be an Associate of the firm. He has also worked as an architect at Plence International and Conte Designs. Apart from that, he was also an assistant lecturer at the Kenya Polytechnic between 1990 and 1991.
Mr. Munyanya is a Committee member of the Kenya Arab Friendship Society which is the custodian of the Masjid ul Rahma at Hurlingham, Nairobi besides running other charitable activities.
Mr. Munyanya is currently a Fellow of the Chairman of the Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK), has served as a member of the Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors of Kenya, served as the Chairman of the AAK from 2005 to 2007, President of the East Africa Institute of Architects (EAIA) from 2006 to 2007 and was also appointed in the year 2000 to represent Kenya in the Hotels, Restaurants and Other Tourism Facilities Classification Committee of East Africa which has established the East Africa Region as a single tourism destination.
