Architect Jayantha PERERA completed his undergraduate and post graduate education in Architecture at the University of Moratuwa Sri Lanka.
On completion of his academic carrier he was elected as a corporate member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Architects and the Royal Institute of British Architects.
His professional carrier has been manly in the private sector in Sri Lanka with short stints of work overseas in Nigeria and Oman.
He has been an academic for a short period of time at the University of Moratuwa Sri Lanka and in the University of Maiduguri Nigeria.
Over 2 decades of his practice has been with one of the Major Architectural Practices in Sri Lanka Design Consortium Ltd. During which period he was responsible for the winning of the SLIA design award for the “Deer Park resort” Giritale Sri Lanka which subsequently received the prestigious Green Globe award. At present he is the Principal Architect of his own practice “Architect Jayantha PERERA”.
Jayantha is involved in Project management through his company PROMAP, a specialized practice in PROJECT MANAGEMENT.
Jayantha is a Mediator and Arbitrator and is a founder Council member of the Institute of Dispute Management Professionals, a founder Director of the Sri Lanka Green Building Council.
Archt. Jayantha PERERA was elected President of the Sri Lanka Institute of Architects for the sessions 2007 to 2009 and held the position Chairman Architects Registration Board Sri Lanka 2009 to 2011.
He was the Chairman of the Committee on Architectural Education of the Architects Regional council Asia (ARCASIA) – and was the Deputy Chairman of Zone A – of ARCASIA during 2009-2010.
He is a Past Chairman of South Asian Association of Architects (SAARCH) He also served as the director for the Union of International Architects’ Work Programme – Responsible Architecture
Architect PERERA is the Current Chairman Practice of the CAA. Also serves as a CAA Validation Executive Committee Member.
Architect PERERA was awarded the “The Award of EMMINANCE” in 2014 by the Institute of Construction Training and Development for his life time Contribution to the Construction Industry and the Profession of Architecture. The Award was presented by His Excellency the President of Sri Lanka.
Past Faculty board member of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Moratuwa Sri Lanka and a Member of the board of Directors of the City School of Architecture (Colombo) Ltd., Both schools are SLIA and RIBA Accredited Schools.
